How'd She Do That?

Week of August 8th

This week for our science demo, I brought out a large, narrow bag that was sealed at one end. I challenged a student to try to inflate it by blowing air into it. At about 33 breaths of air and being only half way filled, the class estimated that it would take about 66 breaths of air to finish filling it. Then, after taking a couple of large breaths and standing about 6 inches away from the opening of the bag, I was able to fill the entire bag in one breath. How did I do that?
